Why education comes before the jacket

Men who wear the Purple Jacket speak publicly about abuse. That carries real weight for survivors who are listening. We require every member to complete the full eight hours so that the jacket always means a man has done the work to understand the issue.

Members may choose any published date that fits their schedule, but the full course must be completed. Membership records include the selected date and completion date, and the jacket is presented after completion.
